We have a full time, permanent vacancy for an enthusiastic and motivated teacher to join our dedicated and supportive staff team. We aim to appoint someone who, like our current teachers, is passionate about special education and has high expectations of themselves and the pupils they teach.

The leadership team and governors are committed to raising pupil attainment and supporting outstanding practice. Receptionist/Administrator

21.75 hours per week

We have a vacancy for a Receptionist and Administrator for 21.75 hours per week, term time only, working Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 8:45 am to 5:00 pm. This post is for a fixed term, pending review, from 6th January 2020 to 31st March 2021.

Our pupils are aged 2 – 19 years with learning, communication and complex health needs ranging from severe to profound and multiple. A passion to work in our environment is essential.

Ideally, you will be an experienced administrator and receptionist and have experience of working in a school environment although the latter is not essential. A knowledge of school-based systems e.g. SIMS, IBC is desirable although training will be available. You must, however, be very IT literate, organised, tolerant of interruptions and a multi-tasker.

The post will involve administrative work ranging from typing EHCPs, newsletters and reports to a variety of personnel and recruitment processes. We promise no two days will be the same! The salary range is Scale B step 1 to Scale C step 5 depending on qualifications and experience. Actual salary ranges from £9,111. to £9,788.

Governor Vacancies

We currently have vacancies for two co-opted governors and a parent governor. In looking to fill these the governors of the school have identified the following skills, experience and attributes that they feel would help strengthen the governing body:

  • time
  • Commitment and interest in our children’s future and improving educational outcomes
  • Inquisitiveness to read paperwork, analyse and question
  • The ability to assimilate information, make judgements and take decisions
  • Good inter-personal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Experience of areas such as education, finance, personnel and business

Co-opted Governors are appointed by the Governing Body, Parent Governors are elected by parents. All potential governors are invited to visit the school and meet with the Headteacher and Governors. They may also be invited to attend a meeting. All potential Governors are required to complete an application form and references will be called for co-opted governors. Any appointed or elected governors will undergo an enhanced DBS check.
