Learning Support Assistant required

We have a vacancy for a Learning Support Assistant 30 hours per week, term time only for a fixed term to 31st of August 2020

Our pupils are aged 2 – 19 years with learning, communication and complex health needs ranging from severe to profound and multiple. The successful applicant will be required to work across the breadth of our school.

Ideally you will have some experience of SEND in a learning environment but this is not essential if you show a strong desire to work with our young people. We welcome applications from people with or without experience, or suitably qualified professionals who are passionate about working with children with special educational needs and disabilities. Our 30 core hours of work are 8:45am to 3:15pm Monday to Friday with half an hour lunch break. As we are a school, you will be required to take all annual leave during school holidays. Integral to your own professional development and as part of your core working weeks you will be required to attend some after school meetings and essential twilight training. The salary range is Grade B or C depending on your qualifications and experience. Hourly rate range is therefore £9.36 to £10.06 and the actual annual salary range £12,850. to £13,804. for 30 hours per week term time only.

Lunchtime Supervisory Assistants required

Approximately 8 hours per week worked Monday to Friday term time only.

Scale A £9.00 to £9.18 per hour. Approximately £3000. pa

Our pupils are aged 2 –19 years with learning, communication and complex health needs ranging from severe to profound and multiple. Due to growth in our pupil numbers, we are looking to expand our friendly and supportive team of lunchtime supervisory assistants.

Working11:35 a.m. to 1:25 p.m.daily Monday to Friday, approximately 8 hours per week, term time only, you will become very much part of the whole school team.

We are looking for people who are passionate about working with children and young people with special educational needs. No experience is necessary. You will receive all the training you require.

There are opportunities for career progression in our school for Lunchtime staff to develop and become Learning Support Assistants.

Governor Vacancies

We currently have vacancies for two co-opted governors and a parent governor. In looking to fill these the governors of the school have identified the following skills, experience and attributes that they feel would help strengthen the governing body:

  • Time
  • Commitment and interest in our children’s future and improving educational outcomes
  • Inquisitiveness to read paperwork, analyse and question
  • The ability to assimilate information, make judgements and take decisions
  • Good inter-personal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Experience of areas such as education, finance, personnel and business

Co-opted Governors are appointed by the Governing Body, Parent Governors are elected by parents. All potential governors are invited to visit the school and meet with the Headteacher and Governors. They may also be invited to attend a meeting. All potential Governors are required to complete an application form and references will be called for co-opted governors. Any appointed or elected governors will undergo an enhanced DBS check.
