We have a full time, permanent vacancy for an enthusiastic and motivated teacher to join our dedicated and supportive staff team. We aim to appoint someone who, like our current teachers, is passionate about special education and has high expectations of themselves and the pupils they teach.

The leadership team and governors are committed to raising pupil attainment and supporting outstanding practice. We continue to be a Good School – Ofsted November 2017 who are “successfully driving further improvements” and “dedicated to our pupils, their families and our staff”. Learning Support Assistants required from September 2019

30 hours per week – term time only

Due to expansion and subsequent growth in pupil numbers, we have 4 permanent and 3 fixed term vacancies for Learning Support Assistants who have a passion for working with pupils with special educational needs. The fixed term vacancies are for up to one year.

Our pupils are aged 2 – 19 years with learning, communication and complex health needs ranging from severe to profound and multiple. The successful applicants will be required to work across the breadth of our school.

Ideally you will have some experience of SEND in a learning environment but this is not essential if you show a strong desire to work with our young people. We welcome applications for these vacancies from people with or without experience, or suitably qualified professionals who are passionate about working with children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Our 30 core hours of work are 8:45am to 3:15pm Monday to Friday with half an hour lunch break. As we are a school, you will be required to take all annual leave during school holidays. Integral to your own professional development and as part of your core working weeks you will be required to attend some after school meetings and essential twilight training.

The salary range is Grade B or C depending on your qualifications and experience. Hourly rate range is therefore £9.36 to £10.06 and the actual annual salary range £12,850. to £13,804. for 30 hours per week term time only.

Governor Vacancies

We currently have vacancies for two co-opted governors and a parent governor. In looking to fill these the governors of the school have identified the following skills, experience and attributes that they feel would help strengthen the governing body:

  • time
  • Commitment and interest in our children’s future and improving educational outcomes
  • Inquisitiveness to read paperwork, analyse and question
  • The ability to assimilate information, make judgements and take decisions
  • Good inter-personal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Experience of areas such as education, finance, personnel and business

Co-opted Governors are appointed by the Governing Body, Parent Governors are elected by parents. All potential governors are invited to visit the school and meet with the Headteacher and Governors. They may also be invited to attend a meeting. All potential Governors are required to complete an application form and references will be called for co-opted governors. Any appointed or elected governors will undergo an enhanced DBS check.
